telephoto lens problems

I ordered this lens for my sony dsc-h3 camera. I have read the directions and still, the photo quality I get when I attach this lens to my camera is horrible. Please feel free to give me advice about how to use a telephoto lens on a sony dsc-h3 camera. I changed my camera settings as per the instructions. Any advice out there? I do not want to be unfair about this lens. If I discover I was the one doing something wrong I will certainly correct this review. so far, my experience with this lens is very disheartening!

I have a DSC-H5. The lens fits perfectly without an adapter but it just won't produce in focus photos. I've used the telephoto setting on the camera and a tripod and tried a bunch of other things (including manual focus) but it just won't produce in focus photos.

lens for sony cybershot. camera

I believe if the lens fit my camera like they said it would I would be happy. However it does not fit and I am still waiting for find the right adapter lens ring so it will fit. When I find one and it fits and I can use the lens I will be very happy to write a very good review.
