If you need more lenses than your budget allows, Polaroid conversion lenses represent a cost effective and intelligent alternative. Because our DNA is optics and lenses (as in Polarizing filters) our conversion lenses are precision engineered and multi-coated to provide flawless results regardless if you use them with your camera, camcorder or even HD-Video capable DSLR. Good for those that need just a bit more reach.

I bought this to work with my Nikon D5000 lenses (18-55mm and 55-200mm). I was hoping that I could get just a bit more reach on my zoom especially with my 55-200mm lens. I must say that when used with the 18-55mm zoom you will definitely get a bit more reach and I'm guessing between 80-100mm end result with a fairly clear picture. However, when used with the 55-200mm lens, the results are very disappointing. It does provide maybe 5-10% more zoom with this lens, but the cost is foggy or distorted pictures where the center is foggy and around the center the picture is distorted. When I tried to use the lens on the 55-200mm lens I found I had to back off on the zoom to eliminate the distortion from around the center of the picture. Even when you back off, the picture has a fogginess to it even thought the lens is perfectly clear.If you have the 18-55mm lens and want just a bit more this will work for you. However, don't expect the same results on the bigger lenses.This was well packed in a box, not a blister pack, and included both front and rear end caps - both of which are plastic and the rear cap screws onto the threads. Also included is a well padded fitted Polaroid bag to keep the lens protected. It felt like it was solid made and would be a good lens to for those that were looking for a bit more zoom with a smaller stock lens.

Don't waste your money.

May be on standard cameras and lenses, for amateur use only, it could do it.But I purchased it for attaching on my Sony HX100V's lens and stacking it with close-up lens... (exigent or complicated situations indeed).Zooming: Absolutely useless.Close-up lens stacked: Absolutely useless.In both cases: Very blurred, cloudy and not defined photos at all, almost as eyes with cataracts.Focus only in the very center of the shots that gets worse near the borders, a lot of chromatic aberration and strong astigmatism.A lot much better results from heavily cropping photos from your original HX100V lens than using this.Returned it the same testing day!Don't purchase it, at least not for what I tried to.

I bought this in order to extend the reach of my Panasonic SDT750 HD camcorder, or at least to see how well it would work. The box makes a whole bunch of claims about being advanced and eliminating vignettes; however, the reality is that the vignetting was horrible! The distortion was visibile even just looking through the lens with the naked eye. My camcorder has a 46mm filter, so I used a 46/52 step-up ring. Once I zoomed in far enough so that the black vignette from the lens housing was removed, the optical distortion was still very evident. By contrast, the generic 72mm 2.2X lens that Amazon sells and costs about the same gave beautiful results with no vignetting whatsoever.Maybe I got a bum lens. I don't know. But what I do know is that other telephoto lenses that I've used with my SDT750 work very well and cost about the same, even if they're much larger. That being the case, there is no reason to risk the optical vignetting with this lens unless that's what you're actually looking for.
