Excellent bang for your buck

I'm a recent photography enthusiast. I wanted to have a a few lenses for my nikon d5100. I have the 18-55 vr and 55-200 vr lens and this set just makes it that more complete for a novice. Both lenses fit and work perfectly on my d5100. Right out of the box, you can feel it's a quality product for the material it was made with. No gripes or complaints about this order. Both items worked per description and that's what matters most. The added bonus is the letter from the president of the company, with a signature... The letter pretty much backs up the product 100%. i'll order from them again, without hesitation, if i need anymore accessories.

Tests conducted with a Nikon D3100

I received a Zeikos 2X Telephoto lens and a Vivitar 0.43X wide angle converter with Macro. I tested both lenses indoors and outdoors using the Nikor kit lens (AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm) and an AF-S Nikkor 55-200mm lens, both in autofocus mode. The wide angle convertor performed well with both lenses. My only complaint was small dark areas on the corners of some of the outdoor pictures. The Telephoto worked well with the 18-55mm lens, both indoors and outdoors. Unfortunately the focus was soft with the 55-200mm lens. This could probably be overcome if you are good at manual focusing, but is a definite problem when using autofocus. In short I am pleased with the wide angle lens, but disappointed with the 2X as I had really planned on using it with the 55-200mm lens. The problem may not be the telephoto lens, but the focusing ability of the 55-200mm lens. Either way it is not usable for what I had initially intended it for.The price is excellent for two lenses and I am keeping them, which is why I gave it four stars.

I don't normally leave reviews but felt compelled to do so. For the price these are a great deal, I've paired them with my Micro Four Thirds 14-42mm lens (the older, larger one not the power-zoom X version) and a Panasonic GF1. Both of the conversion lenses are branded Vivitar and they work very nicely. The 0.45x gives a very good wide angle without too much fisheye-type distortion. This was my main reason for purchasing and the 2x was just a bonus. It has a great macro too, focusing easily within an inch of the glass. The 2x zoom is a little soft at the edges but good in the central region and gives a black ring at the 14mm/wide angle end of the zoom range of this lens, but that's not where its needed anyway. Its pretty good in the central region at max zoom. Overall I'm very happy with these and would highly recommend them. At this price you can't go wrong!
