The Samyang 800mm f/8.0 Manual Focus Mirror Lens is a high-quality, computer designed product that incorporates the merits of both reflex optics and refraction optics. This combination provides the user with an extremely sharp picture with minimum color aberration.

This strong, lightweight all-metal adapter is used to attach T-mount lenses and other optics to Canon EF (EOS) mount cameras.

This 2x teleconverter attaches to any T-mount (screw mount) lens, and effectively doubles the focal length of that lens, allowing the photographer to get much closer to the action. This simple, yet high-grade adapter provides excellent optical quality at an affordable price.

This 67-inch monopod is made of strong, lightweight black aluminum, and features a 4-section leg with horizontal flip-locks. Also features a non-slip rubber foot, padded grip, and a carrying case with adjustable shoulder strap.

This 6-piece cleaning kit contains everything you'll ever need to properly clean your lenses, including a Hurricane Air Blower, Lens Cleaning Tissues, Lens Cloth, Lens Cleaning Liquid, Brush and Cotton Swabs.

Hidden Macro capability!

After seeing some bird and butterfly pictures taken with this lens. I bought this Samyang lens. I use it with a number 3 extension tube on a full frame Kodak dcs pro 14n body. The tube enables much closer focusing. So close I would say it is macro focusing.The thing is that even with an extension ring, this mirror lens still focuses at infinity! So this 800 mm f8 will go from photographing close ups of butter flies to birds with the same lens. I can think of no other 800 mm lens that can do that! Do not forget the shutter speed must be 1/800 or faster (hand held), for sharpness.

Low quality

This lens is barely adequate even if you don't expect too much. There is a lot of flare, so don't expect high contrast images. Also, even when focused accurately (which is hard to do), images are fuzzy compared to a quality lens costing 5-10 times more. Basically, you get what you paid for.

Severe Chromatic Aberration

This lens has high mechanical quality. However it has severe chromatic aberration near the edges of the image. Therefore I am not using it for any serious photography.

I bought this as an attachment for a Canon 590IS pocket camera and at first I had no idea how well it would work. I noticed a little distortion at certain levels of zoom, but in general, the magnification it provides a range is impressive; definitely more than a gimmick. Its applicability for everyday shooting is a bit limited due to the fact that it doubles the weight of the camera and only shoots at full zoom, but for observing detail at distances far outside the camera's normal range, this product is a must-have accessory for the 590IS.

Since it fits right over your camera's existing lens system, a wide-angle and telephoto converter affects the full zoom range of your camera's lens.
