The Opteka manual focus mirror lens is incredibly compact and lightweight. Using an advanced reflex design, this is a mirror lens that is ideally suited for wildlife and sports photography. It has a fixed aperture of f8. It comes complete with a soft pouch and three (3) rear mounted, 30.5mm filters, (ND-2X, ND-4X & Skylight). Opteka mirror lenses incorporates advanced computer designed optics and the latest in multi-coating techniques.á The process of multi-coating assures virtually flare free photographs even under adverse lighting conditions resulting in crisp high contrast pictures with full color fidelity.

Excellent value and a very decent lens!

When I ordered this lens, I was just like most people ... skeptical of a lens at this price and questioning just how much I would use it. Well, the lens delivers better quality than I hoped for and I find myself using it more than I initially expected. Sure, it's manual on my Olympus Evolt 500, but that didn't even slow me down. Moon shots, animals at a distance, even objects acroiss a small lake - this lens performs and performs well. I find myself looking at potential subjects differently and taking pictures that I would have just passed up.If you are use to going manual, then this is a great buy. The images it produces are sharp and clear ... as long as you go in with a high shutter speed or tripod. You be the judge for yourself, but I am VERY happy with this lens.

Good value

47th St. Photo is an excellent vendor. My order shipped quickly and was well packaged. However, the first time I used the lens, when I went to take it off my E-500 something stripped the threads. The T-mount adapter was probably the culprit, it might have had a burr on it. Anyway, the lens threads were ruined. I did not drop the lens or abuse it in anyway. 47th Street photo did not blink an eye. They sent me instructions, I returned the lens and got a replacement and another T-mount adapter right away. Kudos.The lens itself is average, low-end quality optics, entirely sufficient for ordinary shooting on a limited budget. It has a narrow depth of field because of its fixed aperture so be prepared for some close focusing problems. You will probably need, as I have, to take several photos and vary the focus very slightly with each one in order to get the degree of crispness on your primary subject. I have taken about 30 photos with it thus far and am learning the lens. Don't expect photos you can print in large format right away but I believe, with proper lighting and patience, I will be able to get some excellent photos that I would have been beyond the range of my other lenses. However, keep in mind, you are getting what you pay for. It's a good lens for the price and if you are out in the high Sierras and you drop it, well, you won't be out of pocket for too much.Like I said, good value for the price.

If you like manual control, this is for you. This 1000mm focus (equivalent 35mm film), put in your hands, for a few dollar, the capability to take large telephotos. Extremely light, you can handle very comfortable, and in high light conditions, with 1/500 sec shutter speeds or less, you can go bare hand. With not so good light conditions, tripod is mandatory.
